7/2/99 DB Hiker Hostel   Miles Today : 0 Miles to Katahdin : 1174.4

No miles today, just hanging around Baltimore and "mall blazing" most of the day. The morning was occupied with breakfast and Sony PlayStation sports.

We then made various to different outdoor stores since DB needed to return a few items and I was looking to shave a few pounds off my load. Then, we headed to downtown Baltimore and the newly renovated harbor area for lunch. The USS Constellation had just been returned after a 2.5 year restoration project. It was a famous battleship in the Civil War built around 1850.

At night, Mama and Papa Drive-By cooked us a great dinner with salad, pasta, and Cajun chicken. Thanks Mr. And Mrs. P! I also got to meet some of DB's friends after dinner. Many different neighbors stopped by the house as we were playing a little whiffleball in the front yard. His good friend Galen came over with his girlfriend. His friend Jen stopped by as well. The group of us played a little more whiffle ball and drank a few beers afterwards. Also, Karla, the girl that gave us the ride swang by the hiker hostel for a little while. Today was great and tomorrow is the DB 4th cookout. Here's to another day
